TV Extension

As a step forward in the way of developing our Egyptian Media, the Ministry of Information has established the annex for the Radio and TV building which lies on a land area about 3750 sq m with a total cost 215000000 L.E., and was designed against earthquakes and finished according to high standards. Participants in this project were the Consulting Engineering office – Aqua Gem – and the construction and Reconstruction Engineering Company – CRC – as general contractor and the Spanish company CIMY. The first stage in the project consisted of a basement, ground floor and 10 upper floors with the same project area and the second stage consisted of a tower holding 11 floors each of a surface area of 2000 sq m constructed on piles and concrete bases for the basement and surrounded by retain walls. Adding to this, there are internal bridges connecting the whole building with neighbor buildings. The project was built using 34,000 cubic meters of ready mix concrete made by 11,000 tons of steel and the garage was upgraded also during this stage. Moreover the building enjoys elevators with high technology, central conditioning system and automatic security program against fire accidents. Also the building is supplied with security cameras, generators and dry transfers that are cooled through air system.
